DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Logistics Operations Support: Assist the Logistics Manager in overseeing the day-to-day logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and fleet coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Inventory and Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels across warehouses, track stock movement, and support inventory reconciliation activities. Ensure minimum stock levels are maintained and conduct periodic stock audits to minimize discrepancies.
- SAP System Utilization: Maintain accurate logistics data using SAP, including goods receipts, shipments, stock transfers, and reporting. Generate system-based reports to assist in decision-making and identify process improvement areas.
- Coordination with Internal and External Stakeholders: Liaise with production, procurement, sales, and finance teams to align logistics activities with company objectives. Manage relationships with transport providers and vendors to ensure adherence to SLAs and timely delivery.
- Route and Transport Planning: Assist in optimizing transportation routes to reduce costs and delivery times. Plan, schedule, and track shipments while ensuring full compliance with transportation regulations.
- Team Supervision and Development: Supervise warehouse staff, drivers, and logistics clerks. Support in assigning duties, monitoring performance, conducting basic training, and promoting a collaborative team environment.
- Logistics Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports on logistics performance, costs, stock movements, delivery schedules, and any operational issues. Ensure all logistics documentation is up-to-date and compliant with internal policies.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all logistics activities comply with legal, health, and safety regulations. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement corrective measures to reduce delays or disruptions.
- Process Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency. Recommend strategies for automation and better use of SAP functionalities.
- Customer Service Support: Handle logistics-related queries from internal teams and customers, ensuring high service levels are maintained and delivery commitments are met.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in a logistics role within a manufacturing company
- Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
