DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify new market opportunities and establish key relationships with suppliers, distributors, and customers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and clients.
- Negotiate and manage sales for chemicals and polymer products, ensuring profitability while maintaining strong customer relationships. Implement pricing strategies and manage risk.
- Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations.
- Conduct market research and analysis on the polymers industry, including competitor analysis, pricing trends, and regulatory environments in East Africa, and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance logistics, supply chain, and financial performance.
- Report on business performance, market trends, and trade volume to senior management, and provide recommendations for improvements and potential opportunities.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trading, sales or business development preferably in chemicals and polymers.
- Strong understanding of international trade, supply chain management, and market dynamics.
- Proven track record in managing trading operations and generating business within the chemicals / polymers sector.
- Strong understanding of East African markets, regulatory environments, and business practices.
- Experience working with multinational teams, especially in the chemicals or polymers industry, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of polymer products and applications.
- Familiarity with global trading platforms and financial instruments.
- Ability to develop strategic partnerships and drive business growth.
