DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
- Identify potential clients and sales opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and marketing campaigns.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
Sales Presentations:
- Conduct in-person and virtual product demonstrations to showcase the benefits of solar energy solutions.
- Provide accurate product information to customers, ensuring they understand how our solar products can meet their energy needs.
Negotiation and Closing Sales:
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions in a way that benefits both the customer and the company.
- Close sales and ensure that all customer orders are processed accurately and promptly.
Achieving Sales Targets:
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by management.
- Monitor your sales performance and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and conversion rates.
Client Engagement:
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients, offering personalized solutions that meet their specific needs.
- Provide excellent customer service and address any queries or concerns the customer may have regarding the products.
Follow-Up and After-Sales Support:
- Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction and resolve any post-sale issues or questions.
- Help clients with troubleshooting or product installation if needed, and ensure that products are functioning as expected.
Client Education:
- Educate customers about the long-term benefits of solar energy solutions, including savings, safety, and environmental impact.
- Train customers on the use and maintenance of solar products to ensure optimal performance.
Market Analysis:
- Stay informed about market trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings in the solar energy space.
- Gather insights into local energy needs and challenges to tailor your sales approach.
Reporting:
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, market feedback, and customer insights to the sales manager.
- Track sales data and performance, and document any customer feedback or market changes that could affect product offerings or pricing.
Frequent Travel:
- Travel within Kenya, especially to rural or underserved areas, to meet with potential and existing clients.
- Represent Sun King at local trade shows, community events, and industry conferences as needed.
Site Assessments:
- Conduct on-site evaluations for clients interested in installing solar systems, ensuring that the products are suitable for their specific location and energy needs.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with the marketing and customer service teams to ensure alignment in messaging and approach.
- Collaborate with installation teams to ensure that products are delivered and installed in a timely and efficient manner.
Feedback Loop:
- Provide feedback to the product development team based on customer inquiries, complaints, and suggestions.
- Share insights about customer needs and challenges to help the company improve its offerings.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years’ proven sales experience, particularly in solar energy products (inverters, power tanks, batteries, etc.)
- Strong understanding of solar energy solutions and products
- Excellent track record in sales, with demonstrable experience in building and maintaining client relationships
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent client management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
