DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Shelf Arrangement & Merchandising

  • Arrange products neatly on shelves according to store standards.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled, faced, and well-displayed.
  • Monitor shelf stock levels and replenish items as needed.
  • Assist in rotating stock to ensure first-in-first-out (FIFO) method.

Customer Assistance

  • Assist customers in locating products within the store.
  • Provide basic information on product placement and availability.
  • Offer courteous and helpful customer service at all times.
  • Direct customers to the cashier or relevant staff when needed.

Store Cleanliness & Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness of shelves, aisles, and general store areas.
  • Remove dust, debris, and empty cartons from shelves and floor areas.
  • Ensure products are clean and presentable.
  • Report any hazards, spills, or safety concerns immediately.

Stock Support Duties

  • Assist in receiving and unpacking stock deliveries.
  • Help with arranging newly delivered goods in storage or on shelves.
  • Report low stock levels and fast-moving items to supervisors.
  • Assist in identifying expired or damaged products.

General Shop Support

  • Support cashiers and other staff during busy periods.
  • Assist in basic operational tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Help maintain order and efficiency in the store.
  • Ensure adherence to store policies and procedures.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • KCSE Certificate required.
  • Previous experience in a minimart or supermarket is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of retail operations is desirable.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hardworking and dependable.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Physically fit to handle standing, lifting, and movement tasks.
  • Attention to detail in shelf arrangement and cleanliness.
