DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Record all financial transactions systematically and timely in accordance with standard accounting principles.
  • Ensure all documentation, including receipts, invoices, and supporting documents, are properly filed and retrievable.
  • Prepare, verify, and post journal entries into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile subsidiary accounts and ensure all entries are supported by valid documentation.
  • Ensure that the general ledger reflects accurate and updated financial data at all times.
  • Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding patient bills and insurance claims.
  • Process supplier invoices, verify their accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Monitor aging reports and work with relevant departments to clear outstanding balances.
  • Reconcile all bank statements monthly, identify discrepancies, and resolve them promptly.
  • Maintain updated cashbooks and ensure alignment with bank records.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for review by management and external bodies.
  • Support timely submission of statutory financial reports in compliance with regulatory deadlines.
  • Manage the petty cash float, process petty cash requests, and maintain proper records of disbursements.
  • Reconcile petty cash periodically and ensure all payments are appropriately authorized.
  • Compute, prepare, and file statutory deductions such as PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, and VAT accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations as stipulated by KRA and other regulatory bodies.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field/ CPA
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare environment
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems)
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and Kenyan tax laws
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking
