DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production & Preparation

  • Prepare a wide variety of pastry items such as cakes, cookies, tarts, bread rolls, croissants, doughnuts, and other baked goods.
  • Follow standardized recipes and production methods to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Decorate and present products attractively for retail display.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels of baking supplies and ingredients.
  • Assist in ordering and receiving supplies in collaboration with the Bakery Supervisor.
  • Ensure proper storage and labelling of ingredients to maintain freshness and compliance with food safety standards.

Quality Control

  • Ensure all products meet company quality standards before they reach the customer.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the preparation and display areas.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with other bakery and kitchen team members to meet daily production targets.
  • Support the team during peak hours and assist in other bakery tasks as required.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding challenges or needs in the bakery section.

Customer Service

  • Engage with customers in a friendly manner when required.
  • Respond to customer inquiries or feedback about pastry items.

 

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in the pastry department of a retail store or supermarket
  • Solid knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, and tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player mindset
