ACCOUNTANT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts analysis.

ERP Management

• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) for financial data entry, reporting, and tracking of transactions.
• Ensure accuracy and efficiency in ERP-based accounting workflows and assist in troubleshooting system-related issues.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and report variances to management with actionable insights.
• Support in cash flow management and financial risk analysis.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
• Prepare documents and respond to audit queries from internal and external auditors.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant tax laws and statutory filings (PAYE, VAT, NSSF, SHIF, etc.).

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding invoices to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Review vendor invoices, prepare payments, and reconcile supplier accounts.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar accounting role in a busy or mid-sized company
• Hands-on experience with ERP Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is a MUST
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
