DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned Thika Road territory and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and key decision-makers.
  • Use cold calling, field visits, referrals, and social media platforms to generate quality leads.

Sales Execution

  • Present and promote the company’s FMCG products to prospective customers through product demonstrations and persuasive sales pitches.
  • Accurately understand customer needs and tailor product offerings accordingly.
  • Provide timely quotations, negotiate pricing, and prepare sales orders in line with company policies.

Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key accounts and distributors.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers through follow-up visits, calls, and emails to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally to enhance client retention.

Territory Management

  • Develop a deep understanding of the assigned area’s customer base, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Plan and execute effective route plans to maximize daily field productivity.
  • Continuously map out coverage and identify underperforming areas with growth potential.

Sales Target Achievement

  • Consistently achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and performance KPIs.
  • Take initiative to boost sales in slow-moving products or underperforming segments.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Accurately prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to management.
  • Track sales performance, stock levels, and customer interactions using designated tools or CRM systems.
  • Maintain updated records of client interactions, transactions, and feedback.

Product Knowledge & Market Intelligence

  • Stay well-informed on product features, benefits, pricing, and industry trends.
  • Gather and report customer insights, market shifts, and competitor strategies to inform marketing and sales decisions.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Work closely with other sales reps, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries and stock availability.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and team-building activities.
  • Share market feedback and suggestions for product improvement or promotional campaigns.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma in Business Management, Sales & Marketing, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in FMCG sales
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals effectively
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques and customer service principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting tools
