DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and issue accurate invoices to clients based on company services or product sales.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.
  • Maintain proper records of all invoices issued and received for reconciliation.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system or ledger.
  • Ensure that all receipts, payments, and expenses are accurately recorded and categorized.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial summaries and reports.
  • File statutory returns such as VAT, PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, and withholding tax using the Kenya Revenue Authority’s iTax platform.
  • Ensure all tax submissions are made on time to avoid penalties or legal issues.
  • Maintain updated knowledge on changes in tax laws and guidelines.
  • Reconcile bank statements against internal records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage petty cash by ensuring proper documentation of all withdrawals and reimbursements.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified in reconciliations.
  • Ensure that all accounting and financial records are up-to-date, accurate, and in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Organize and maintain physical and digital files related to finance, taxes, invoices, and contracts.
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and service providers on matters related to billing and payments.
  • Provide financial support to other departments as required.
  • Carry out other accounting tasks and administrative responsibilities as may be assigned by management.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA Part II or higher will be an added advantage
  • 1–2 years of proven experience in a busy accounting environment
  • Proficiency in invoicing, iTax, filing returns, and general bookkeeping
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks
