DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate and issue accurate invoices to clients based on company services or product sales.
- Track and follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collections.
- Maintain proper records of all invoices issued and received for reconciliation.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system or ledger.
- Ensure that all receipts, payments, and expenses are accurately recorded and categorized.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial summaries and reports.
- File statutory returns such as VAT, PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, and withholding tax using the Kenya Revenue Authority’s iTax platform.
- Ensure all tax submissions are made on time to avoid penalties or legal issues.
- Maintain updated knowledge on changes in tax laws and guidelines.
- Reconcile bank statements against internal records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage petty cash by ensuring proper documentation of all withdrawals and reimbursements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified in reconciliations.
- Ensure that all accounting and financial records are up-to-date, accurate, and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Organize and maintain physical and digital files related to finance, taxes, invoices, and contracts.
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and service providers on matters related to billing and payments.
- Provide financial support to other departments as required.
- Carry out other accounting tasks and administrative responsibilities as may be assigned by management.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA Part II or higher will be an added advantage
- 1–2 years of proven experience in a busy accounting environment
- Proficiency in invoicing, iTax, filing returns, and general bookkeeping
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks
