DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Acquisition & Lead Generation
- Actively scout for new business opportunities by identifying and visiting prospective clients such as hardware stores, garages, construction firms, and auto repair shops.
- Conduct cold calls, walk-ins, and scheduled visits to pitch company products.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads and convert them into sales.
Product Demonstration & Consultation
- Demonstrate the use, features, and benefits of tools and machinery to potential buyers.
- Offer technical advice and recommend suitable equipment based on client needs.
- Provide after-sales consultations, including installation guidance and basic usage training where applicable.
Sales Execution
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines with customers.
- Prepare quotations and sales proposals in a timely and professional manner.
- Close sales deals and ensure proper documentation and order processing.
Account Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through regular follow-ups and support.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints or concerns promptly.
- Upsell and cross-sell additional products to existing accounts.
Territory Management
- Organize and plan daily/weekly routes within the assigned sales territory (Nairobi and/or Mombasa).
- Maintain detailed records of customer visits, feedback, and next steps in CRM or reporting tools.
- Analyze territory performance and adjust strategies to maximize results.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Keep track of industry trends, competitor products, pricing, and promotions.
- Share feedback with the management team to help refine sales strategies and product offerings.
- Submit timely and accurate reports, including daily activity logs, sales performance, and market insights.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination
- Work closely with the logistics, inventory, and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and payment collection.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to support promotions, trade shows, and product launches.
Compliance & Representation
- Uphold the company’s brand image, values, and ethics in all interactions.
- Ensure compliance with all sales policies, procedures, and customer agreements.
- Represent the company professionally at all times during customer interactions and events.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Engineering, or any relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience in field sales of tools, machinery, or similar products
- Strong understanding of the hardware, construction, and automotive industry dynamics
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the region
