DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate heavy trucks (10-ton and above) to transport waste and recycling materials across designated routes within allocated areas.
  • Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues to the maintenance team.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and vehicles are not overloaded beyond legal limits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
  • Accurately complete logbooks, delivery records, and vehicle inspection sheets.
  • Collaborate with logistics personnel for route planning and timely delivery.
  • Report any accidents, delays, or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
  • Occasionally assist with loading/unloading, depending on the nature of the cargo and company operations.
  • Interact respectfully with clients, site personnel, and the general public, representing the company professionally at all times.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Must possess a valid Smart Driving License (Heavy Commercial Vehicle class)
  • Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience driving heavy commercial vehicles
  • Must be presentable, responsible, and committed to professional conduct
  • Basic proficiency in spoken English; knowledge of French or Creole is an added advantage
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting basics
  • Physically fit with the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays as required
  • No commission charged. Travel and accommodation expenses provided by the client
