DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate heavy trucks (10-ton and above) to transport waste and recycling materials across designated routes within allocated areas.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues to the maintenance team.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and vehicles are not overloaded beyond legal limits.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
- Accurately complete logbooks, delivery records, and vehicle inspection sheets.
- Collaborate with logistics personnel for route planning and timely delivery.
- Report any accidents, delays, or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
- Occasionally assist with loading/unloading, depending on the nature of the cargo and company operations.
- Interact respectfully with clients, site personnel, and the general public, representing the company professionally at all times.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Must possess a valid Smart Driving License (Heavy Commercial Vehicle class)
- Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience driving heavy commercial vehicles
- Must be presentable, responsible, and committed to professional conduct
- Basic proficiency in spoken English; knowledge of French or Creole is an added advantage
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting basics
- Physically fit with the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays as required
- No commission charged. Travel and accommodation expenses provided by the client
