DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Promotion of Pharmaceutical Products
- Actively promote the company’s pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals including doctors, pharmacists, clinical officers, and other medical staff.
- Conduct product presentations in clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies to educate healthcare professionals on the benefits, usage, dosage, and safety of the company’s products.
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key healthcare providers to ensure brand loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Regularly follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction, provide after-sales support, and address any concerns or feedback.
- Serve as the main point of contact between the company and clients in the Mt. Kenya region, ensuring consistent communication and support.
Territory Management and Route Planning
- Strategically plan daily, weekly, and monthly routes within the Mt. Kenya region to maximize customer visits and territory coverage.
- Identify and prioritize high-potential clients and underserved areas to expand market reach.
- Maintain a detailed database of all clients, contact history, and future visit plans using CRM tools or internal reporting systems.
Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis
- Gather and report information on market trends, competitor products, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and customer preferences.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management based on market research and competitor activity in the region.
Product Knowledge and Training
- Stay up to date with all product knowledge including ingredients, indications, contraindications, side effects, and regulatory status.
- Effectively communicate complex medical and technical information in a clear and relatable manner to both medical and non-medical audiences.
Sales Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activities, orders, calls, expenses, and customer interactions.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to the Sales Manager detailing progress against sales targets, challenges, and plans for improvement.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal policies and industry regulations.
Achievement of Sales Targets and KPIs
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as assigned by the management.
- Track individual performance metrics and adjust strategies proactively to ensure targets are met.
- Participate in performance reviews and goal-setting sessions with the Regional Sales Manager.
Participation in Product Launches and Events
- Assist in the coordination and execution of new product launches within the region.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, exhibitions, community health outreach programs, and other public events.
- Engage attendees with product demonstrations, distribute marketing materials, and collect leads for follow-up.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or medical sales
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven sales and negotiation ability
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and medical terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
