DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Acquisition & Prospecting

  • Identify potential clients such as schools, universities, training institutes, clinics, and small laboratories
  • Actively seek new business through cold calls, walk-ins, referrals, and field visits
  • Map out assigned areas (e.g., Ngara, Pangani, Parklands) to build a consistent client pipeline

Sales & Product Promotion

  • Present and explain products to customers in simple, non-technical language
  • Recommend suitable products based on customer needs (training will be provided)
  • Prepare and share quotations, pricing, and product options
  • Upsell and cross-sell related items (e.g., lab equipment, consumables, reagents)

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
  • Regularly check in with clients to understand restocking needs
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction to encourage repeat business and referrals

Order Management & Follow-Up

  • Receive and process customer orders accurately
  • Coordinate with the internal team to ensure timely delivery of products
  • Follow up on pending orders, deliveries, and payments
  • Handle customer complaints or issues and escalate when necessary

Sales Targets & Reporting

  • Meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Keep daily records of sales activities (calls, visits, deals closed)
  • Provide weekly updates to management on performance and pipeline
  • Track competitor activity and market trends in the area

 Field Work & Market Coverage

  • Conduct regular field visits to clients within and outside Ngara
  • Participate in school visits, demos, and promotional activities when required
  • Represent the company professionally during all client interactions

 Product Learning (Non-Technical)

  • Learn basic product knowledge (names, uses, pricing) through training
  • Stay updated on new products and promotions
  • Be able to confidently explain product benefits without needing scientific expertise

Payment Collection Support

  • Assist in following up on outstanding payments
  • Maintain proper records of invoices and receipts when required

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma/Degree in any field
  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, or a related field
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and target-driven
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, email)
