DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation & Commissioning of Solar Systems
- Conduct on-site installation of solar PV systems including panels, inverters, charge controllers, and battery banks.
- Ensure proper wiring, grounding, and configuration of systems according to electrical safety standards.
- Perform system testing and commissioning to verify performance and functionality.
- Provide technical input on optimal placement and sizing of systems to meet customer energy needs.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers experiencing issues with their systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults related to solar panels, inverters, batteries, and monitoring systems.
- Guide customers through remote troubleshooting procedures or schedule on-site visits as required.
- Maintain a high first-time fix rate to ensure customer satisfaction and system uptime.
After-Sales Service & Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct routine service checks on installed systems to ensure optimal performance and identify any potential failures.
- Replace faulty components and perform firmware updates when needed.
- Maintain records of all service activities, repairs, and parts used.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through responsive and professional support.
Customer Training & Product Orientation
- Train customers and end-users on the operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of solar energy and storage systems.
- Provide handover documentation, user manuals, and safety guidelines after installation.
- Offer clear and patient explanations to ensure users understand how to manage and monitor their systems.
Pre-Sales Technical Assistance
- Work alongside the sales team to provide technical input during the proposal and system design stages.
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and provide accurate technical recommendations.
- Help prepare quotations or bill of quantities (BoQs) based on customer needs and site conditions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete detailed service reports, installation checklists, and commissioning documents for every project.
- Log customer interactions, issues, and resolutions in the company’s CRM or support system.
- Ensure proper documentation is available for warranty claims and product returns when applicable.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all electrical safety standards, company policies, and installation best practices.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools during field operations.
- Report incidents or potential hazards to the Technical Manager promptly.
Continuous Learning & Product Knowledge
- Stay updated on emerging technologies in the solar and energy storage industry.
- Participate in internal and external training sessions on new products, software platforms, and installation methods.
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams on field performance and customer feedback.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Minimum of 1-year experience in the solar industry, specifically in technical support, installation, or after-sales service
- Knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and charge controllers
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and installation manuals
- Hands-on experience with tools and equipment used in solar system installation and testing
