DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivery & Transportation:

  • Transport materials safely and securely from the Mlolongo depot to clients across Nairobi and upcountry regions.
  • Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery while minimizing fuel consumption and delays.
  • Load and unload goods with care to avoid damage to materials.

Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to check oil, fuel, water, brakes, tires, lights, and other essentials.
  • Report any mechanical faults or service needs promptly to the Fleet Manager or Logistics Officer.
  • Ensure regular servicing, cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the truck.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate trip logs including delivery notes, fuel usage, mileage records, and delivery times.
  • Obtain client signatures upon delivery and report any customer concerns or delivery challenges to the office.
  • Complete delivery paperwork and submit to the Logistics Coordinator in a timely manner.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Adhere strictly to Kenyan road traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety protocols at all times.
  • Secure cargo properly using appropriate tie-downs or covers to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Cooperate with police and inspection officers when stopped and ensure all transport documents are up to date.

 

 

Customer Interaction:

  • Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, providing courteous service and clear communication.
  • Address client questions politely and escalate complex issues to the relevant department.
  • Collect feedback from customers and relay it to the office for service improvement.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Valid Driving License (Class BCE preferred)
  • At least 5 years of proven experience driving trucks (long-distance/local)
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police
  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
  • Knowledge of road safety regulations and truck maintenance
  • Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading where necessary
