DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Greet customers in a warm and friendly manner as they arrive.
  • Provide detailed information about the menu and offer recommendations when necessary.
  • Ensure customers are comfortable and their needs are met during their dining experience.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and patience.

Order Taking and Service:

  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
  • Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring that orders are correct and meet the restaurant's standards.
  • Ensure that all tables are set up and prepared for customers before service and cleaned and reset after service.

Point of Sale (POS) System Operation:

  • Operate the POS system to accurately process orders, payments, and handle any discounts or promotions.
  • Ensure that all payments are processed correctly and efficiently, including cash and card transactions.

Knowledge of À la Carte Menu:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the restaurant's à la carte menu and daily specials.
  • Advise customers on menu choices, dietary requirements, and pairing suggestions.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure accurate order preparation and presentation.

 

 

 

Team Collaboration:

  • Work as part of a team, assisting other waitstaff when necessary to ensure efficient service.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including clearing tables and resetting for new customers.
  • Ensure that utensils, glassware, and condiments are stocked and clean at all times.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines as outlined by the restaurant and relevant health authorities.
  • Follow safety protocols for handling food, beverages, and hazardous materials.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification is preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant or similar environment
  • Proven experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and handling payments
  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on customer interaction and problem-solving
  • Strong knowledge of à la carte menus, food pairings, and beverage offerin
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
