JOB SUMMARY

The Tours Consultant is responsible for designing, costing, and validating tour products to ensure they are operationally feasible, commercially viable, and margin-compliant before handover to operations. This role protects the company from pricing errors, cost leakages, and execution risk.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tour Design & Costing

  • Build FIT and group itineraries based on structured briefs from Sales
  • Cost tours accurately across multiple suppliers and currencies
  • Apply approved margin frameworks and pricing playbooks
  • Stress-test itineraries for:
  • Timing feasibility
  • Seasonal pricing risks
  • Visa and operational constraints

Quotation Support

  • Prepare detailed, professional costings and itineraries
  • Clearly document:
  • Inclusions and exclusions
  • Assumptions
  • Validity periods
  • Support Sales with technical explanations (not negotiations)
  • Revise quotes only with clear scope changes

 Supplier Liaison

  • Source and confirm rates with:
  • Hotels
  • DMCs
  • Transport providers
  • Activity suppliers
  • Validate availability and special conditions
  • Flag supplier risks early (availability, blackouts, surcharges)

 Pre-Operations Handover

  • Ensure confirmed bookings are:
  • Fully costed
  • Margin-compliant
  • Correctly documented
  • Prepare clean handover notes for Operations
  • Highlight critical items (deadlines, deposits, visa timelines)

Margin & Risk Control

  • Identify and escalate margin risks early
  • Monitor currency rates exposure and supplier fluctuations
  • Support post-tour margin analysis when required
  • Enforce SOPs and pricing discipline

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Tourism Management or any related field.
  • Over 6 years hands on experience in FIT and group tour packaging for both inbound and outbound travelers i.e International and Local travelers.
  • Must have experience in a travel agency or travel management company.
  • Must demonstrate practical ability in Tour design and costing, Multi destination itinerary construction and costing across hotels, transport and DMC services
