DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipment & Allocation Management

  • Manage shipment requests and voyage space requests for shipments on the waiting list.
  • Monitor and optimize voyage allocation utilization to maximize load factor and revenue.
  • Manage customer allocation and bundled allocation utilization to ensure contractual commitments are met.
  • Advise on shipment handling strategies during overbooking situations, ensuring revenue optimization and customer satisfaction.
  • Submit and manage CA (Capacity Adjustment) requests where required.
  • Review routing proposals and recommend adjustments to improve operational and commercial performance.

 Revenue Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop and plan annual budget volumes and revenue targets in alignment with trade strategy.
  • Provide monthly volume trend analysis with commentary on deviations and opportunities.
  • Deliver weekly volume forecasts and capacity outlooks.
  • Conduct equipment forecasting to ensure adequate supply aligned with demand.
  • Liaise with Trade Management (TM) on revenue and routing optimization initiatives such as:
  • GRI (General Rate Increase) opportunities
  • Market feedback
  • Routing proposals and enhancements

 Performance Monitoring & Analysis

  • Review and analyze lost business to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Track and report customer performance against allocations, contracts, and profitability.
  • Conduct PRIA report clean-up (e.g., Negative CL2 and ICL corrections).
  • Perform D&D (Demurrage & Detention) analysis and free time reviews; provide recommendations and approvals where applicable.
  • Optimize local ancillary charges (e.g., documentation fee, cancellation fee, re-booking fee) to enhance revenue generation.

 Market & Opportunity Analysis

  • Analyze and optimize:
  • Market segmentation (Long-Term vs Short-Term business)
  • Cargo mix
  • Equipment utilization (EQ)
  • Analyze opportunities updated in CRM and provide guidance to Sales Management on the most profitable and strategic opportunities to pursue.
  • Collect and evaluate information on:
  • Market trends
  • Competitor services and product changes
  • Potential customers
  • Industry developments
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on market intelligence and data insights.

 Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Prepare for and actively participate in APM Calls, presenting volume outlook, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct weekly alignment meetings with Area Sales to ensure volume targets and market strategies are synchronized.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Trade Management to ensure effective execution of commercial strategy.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in shipping, trade management, revenue management, or commercial operations.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with ability to interpret commercial data.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred).
  • Strong understanding of shipping operations, allocation control, and trade economics.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
