LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sorting and Organizing Laundry

• Separate clothes, linens, and other items based on type, color, and fabric.
• Identify delicate or specialty items that require special handling.

Stain Treatment and Pre-Wash Care

• Inspect items for stains, dirt, or damage before washing.
• Apply appropriate pre-treatment solutions or techniques to remove stains.
• Ensure delicate items are handled with care to prevent damage.

Operation of Laundry Equipment

• Operate washing machines, dryers, and pressing or folding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Follow manufacturer and safety guidelines for machinery use.

Inventory Management

• Track stock levels of detergents, cleaning chemicals, fabric softeners, and other supplies.
• Report low stock or damaged supplies to the supervisor.
• Ensure storage areas are organized and chemicals are handled safely.

Quality Assurance

• Inspect washed and dried items for cleanliness and proper handling.
• Fold, iron, and package laundry items according to standards.
• Maintain consistent quality of all laundry outputs.

Workspace Cleanliness and Safety

• Keep laundry rooms, equipment, and work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Adhere to occupational health and safety standards, including proper handling of chemicals.
• Ensure waste and used chemicals are disposed of safely.

Teamwork and Reporting

• Work collaboratively with supervisors and other staff to maintain smooth operations.
• Report any operational issues, incidents, or damages immediately.
• Assist with special tasks as assigned, such as deep cleaning or large laundry orders.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Prior experience in laundry operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of laundry chemicals and stain removal techniques is preferred.
• Ability to operate industrial washing machines and dryers.
• Good physical stamina and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
