DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage the recruitment process from job posting and candidate screening to interviews, selection, reference checks, and onboarding.
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, onboarding documentation, and ensure new employees are properly inducted.
  • Work with management to identify staffing needs and support timely recruitment of suitable candidates.

HR Administration & Payroll

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HR databases, attendance registers, and leave records.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll inputs, including attendance, overtime, leave, allowances, deductions, new hires, and employee exits.
  • Prepare regular HR reports covering headcount, attendance, leave, turnover, recruitment, and other key HR metrics.

Employee Relations & Performance

  • Handle employee concerns, grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflicts professionally and confidentially.
  • Coordinate probation reviews, performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, and related documentation.
  • Support employee engagement, welfare, retention, training, and initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture.

HR Compliance & Policy

  • Ensure HR practices comply with Kenyan labour laws, statutory requirements, and internal company policies.
  • Support management in implementing and reviewing HR policies, procedures, employee guidelines, and disciplinary processes.
  • Keep management informed of relevant changes in employment legislation and advise on potential HR risks and appropriate action.

HR Support & Advisory

  • Serve as a key point of contact for employees and management on HR policies, procedures, employment matters, and workplace issues.
  • Provide practical HR advice to management on staffing, employee performance, conduct, welfare, and other people-related matters.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, and fairness when handling employee matters.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in HR operations
  • Demonstrable experience in recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination, attendance, and leave management
  • Good working knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR practices
  • Membership in IHRM and/or relevant professional HR certification will be an added advantage
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, or other HR management systems is an added advantage
