RADIO TECHNICIANS (6 POSITIONS)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation & Configuration

• Install, configure, align, and commission wireless network equipment, including radios, sector antennas, and CPEs.
• Conduct site installations and ensure equipment is properly mounted, connected, configured, and optimized for reliable connectivity.
• Perform basic network testing and signal assessments to confirm that installations meet the required performance standards.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, signal, equipment, and network-related faults in a timely manner.
• Monitor wireless links and troubleshoot issues relating to interference, signal strength, channel configuration, RSSI, SNR, and line-of-sight.
• Carry out routine maintenance, equipment checks, replacements, and repairs to minimize service interruptions.

Technical & Customer Support

• Respond to customer technical issues and provide clear guidance on connectivity and equipment-related concerns.
• Maintain professional communication with customers while ensuring reported faults are followed through to resolution.
• Document installations, repairs, equipment changes, and technical issues accurately and escalate complex faults when necessary.

Safety & Work Standards

• Follow established technical, electrical, equipment-handling, and workplace safety procedures during installations and maintenance.
• Ensure tools, equipment, cables, antennas, and other materials are handled, stored, and maintained appropriately.
• Work effectively as part of a technical team and complete assigned installations and service calls within agreed timelines.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Certificate, Diploma, or relevant technical training in Telecommunications, ICT, Networking, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Practical experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting wireless networks and related equipment.
• Knowledge of Ubiquiti airMAX/Rocket equipment, sector antennas, wireless CPEs, and related networking equipment.
• Good understanding of radio frequencies, channel widths, interference, RSSI, SNR, line-of-sight, and Fresnel zones.
• Good communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
