DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Translate the organisation’s strategic goals into clear operational plans, priorities, processes, and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure departments are aligned, accountable, and working towards shared business objectives.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement practical systems and processes that improve efficiency, productivity, and scalability.

Business Growth & Execution

  • Support the leadership team in executing growth initiatives, managing priorities, and ensuring key projects are delivered on time.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics, budgets, timelines, and operational targets to drive business results.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving profitability, service delivery, customer experience, and overall organisational performance.

Project & Process Management

  • Oversee major projects and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Develop and improve SOPs, workflows, reporting structures, and internal systems to create a more efficient and scalable organisation.
  • Monitor implementation, identify bottlenecks, and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.

Team Leadership & Accountability

  • Coordinate and align different teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and accountability across the organisation.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, performance expectations, and reporting structures for team members.
  • Support managers and team leads in resolving operational challenges and improving team performance.

Reporting & Decision Support

  • Analyse operational and financial information to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring intervention.
  • Prepare regular management reports and provide leadership with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Establish systems for tracking organisational performance and ensure leadership decisions are supported by accurate and timely information.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in operations, business management, project management, or a similar leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience scaling, managing, restructuring, or significantly improving a startup, SME, social enterprise, or growing organisation.
  • Technical & Professional Skills
  • Strong understanding of business operations, project management, process improvement, performance management, and organisational systems.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, financial, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in productivity, project management, reporting, and business management tools is an added advantage.
