JOB SUMMARY

Our client in the corporate training sector is looking for an experienced, proactive and results-driven Business Development Officer to support business growth, client engagement and sales conversion. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, convert enquiries into confirmed business and build strong, long-term relationships with individual and institutional clients.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond promptly to enquiries received through email, telephone, WhatsApp, website registrations and social media.
  • Qualify prospective clients and recommend suitable training programmes and solutions.
  • Follow up on enquiries, quotations, proposals and registrations to achieve agreed sales targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within companies, government institutions, NGOs and development organizations.
  • Develop and manage relationships with new, existing and past clients.
  • Generate institutional leads through research, networking, referrals and direct outreach.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, capability statements and client presentations.
  • Support responses to tenders, requests for proposals and expressions of interest.
  • Promote repeat business, referrals, upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and current lead, client and sales records in the CRM system.
  • Track the sales pipeline from initial enquiry to confirmation, payment and post-training follow-up.
  • Conduct client reactivation, email, telephone and WhatsApp marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the training and digital marketing teams to promote training programmes.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales, conversion, pipeline and revenue reports.
  • Monitor market needs, competitor activities and emerging business opportunities.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Communication, Public Relations or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in business development, corporate sales, client engagement or account management.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets, converting leads and developing new client accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience in business-to-business sales and engagement with corporate organizations, government institutions, NGOs or development agencies.
  • Experience selling corporate training, consulting, professional services or other knowledge-based solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Practical experience managing the complete sales cycle—from prospecting and lead qualification to proposal submission, negotiation, closing and post-sale relationship management.
  • Strong experience in preparing compelling proposals, quotations, capability statements, presentations and responses to client requirements.
  • Experience managing institutional accounts, building relationships with decision-makers and generating repeat business.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, sales pipeline management, Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
  • Ability to analyse sales performance, maintain accurate records and prepare clear weekly and monthly reports.
