GARDENER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Garden Maintenance and Landscaping

• Maintain lawns, flower gardens, trees, shrubs, hedges and other landscaped areas to ensure they remain healthy and well presented.
• Carry out regular watering, weeding, pruning, trimming, planting and lawn mowing as required.
• Maintain flower beds, remove dead plants and leaves, and ensure all garden areas remain neat and free from litter.
• Assist with planting new flowers, grass, trees and ornamental plants to enhance the appearance of the property.

Plant Care and Garden Management

• Monitor the health of plants, lawns and trees, identifying pests, diseases and other issues that may affect their growth.
• Apply fertilizers, compost and appropriate plant treatments safely and according to instructions.
• Ensure proper watering schedules and suitable care for different plant varieties and seasonal conditions.
• Maintain garden tools and equipment in good working condition and report any repairs or replacements needed.

Pool and Outdoor Area Maintenance

• Assist with routine swimming pool cleaning, including removing leaves, debris and other visible dirt.
• Help maintain cleanliness around the pool area, including surrounding walkways, patios and outdoor relaxation spaces.
• Support basic pool maintenance activities as instructed, following established safety procedures when handling cleaning products or equipment.
• Report pool maintenance issues, damaged equipment, leaks or other hazards to the supervisor promptly.

General Property Care and Safety

• Keep outdoor areas, pathways, garden entrances and landscaped surroundings clean, tidy and presentable at all times.
• Safely use and store gardening tools, machinery, cleaning materials and other equipment.
• Follow proper safety procedures when handling fertilizers, pesticides, pool chemicals and gardening equipment.
• Perform other reasonable outdoor maintenance duties as assigned to support the overall upkeep of the property.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Proven experience as a Gardener, preferably in a private residence, estate, hotel or similar environment.
• Practical knowledge of lawn care, planting, pruning, watering, weeding and general landscaping.
• Familiarity with common gardening tools, equipment and basic plant care techniques.
• Experience assisting with swimming pool cleaning and maintenance will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of safe handling and storage of gardening and cleaning chemicals.
