DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with overall corporate objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board on financial performance, investment opportunities, and growth initiatives.
  • Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and capital allocation.

Financial Management & Control

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Manage large-scale budgets and complex financial operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial systems.

Corporate Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and corporate governance standards in DRC.
  • Liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial institutions.
  • Implement and maintain risk management frameworks and internal audit processes.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Oversee cash flow planning, liquidity management, and banking relationships.
  • Manage foreign exchange exposure and financial risk in a dynamic market environment.
  • Optimize working capital and capital structure.

Operational & Commercial Support

  • Partner with operations and commercial teams to drive profitability and cost optimization.
  • Evaluate business performance metrics and provide actionable financial insights.
  • Support expansion strategies, M&A, and investment analysis where applicable.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Build strong financial capabilities across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and performance excellence.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance, or equivalent).
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience in the FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record managing large budgets and complex, multi-entity financial structures.
  • Strong corporate governance and regulatory compliance expertise.
  • Experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo or similar African markets is a strong advantage.
