DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical Maintenance & Repairs

  • Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all electrical equipment and production machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on motors, drives, control panels, sensors, relays, contactors, and associated equipment.
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and implement effective corrective actions to minimize production losses.
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential issues before failures occur.
  • Repair and replace defective electrical components and wiring systems as required.

Automation & Control Systems

  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
  • Monitor and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), instrumentation, and process control systems.
  • Assist in programming modifications and parameter adjustments under engineering guidance.
  • Support commissioning and startup activities for new equipment and production lines.

Production Support

  • Work closely with production teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Identify recurring equipment faults and recommend long-term solutions to improve machine reliability.
  • Support production changeovers and machine setup activities where electrical expertise is required.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and production disruptions.

 

Installation & Projects

  • Install electrical systems, machinery, control panels, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Assist in plant expansion projects, equipment upgrades, and electrical improvement initiatives.
  • Perform cable routing, termination, panel wiring, and equipment commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all installations comply with electrical standards, regulations, and company requirements.

Safety, Compliance & Quality

  • Adhere to all electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and industry standards.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action programs.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and ensure proper handling of electrical tools and equipment.
  • Report unsafe conditions and recommend corrective measures.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and breakdown reports.
  • Update maintenance schedules and equipment history records.
  • Monitor spare parts consumption and recommend replenishment requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports on recurring faults, repairs completed, and equipment performance trends.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment efficiency and reducing downtime.
  • Recommend upgrades and modifications to improve plant reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.
  • Support implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Assist in training machine operators on basic electrical fault identification and safe equipment operation

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, steel, FMCG, packaging, or processing plant environment.
  • Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, motor control systems, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance practices and industrial power systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting production machinery and automated systems.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements in manufacturing environments.
