WAITER/WAITRESS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Food and Beverage Service

• Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables where required.
• Present menus, explain menu items, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate them effectively to the kitchen and bar teams.
• Serve food and beverages professionally and in accordance with established fine dining protocols.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and respond promptly to requests.

Guest Experience

• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of hospitality.
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally.
• Build positive relationships with guests to enhance their dining experience.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Product Knowledge

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of continental cuisine, menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and pairings.
• Provide informed recommendations to guests regarding food and beverage selections.

Dining Area Management

• Prepare and set tables according to service standards.
• Ensure dining areas remain clean, organized, and presentable throughout service.
• Clear tables efficiently and reset them for subsequent guests.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food and beverage service areas.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
• Follow company policies, service procedures, and hospitality standards.
• Ensure responsible service of alcoholic beverages in accordance with applicable regulations.

General Duties

• Support banquet, conference, and special event service when required.
• Work closely with kitchen, bar, and housekeeping teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Service, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a high-end hotel, lodge, resort, or fine dining establishment.
• Experience in luxury hospitality environments will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of continental cuisine and fine dining service standards.
• Extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages, wines, spirits, and cocktails.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to take orders accurately and efficiently.
• Professional grooming and etiquette.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
