JOB SUMMARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, customer accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare management reports highlighting financial performance and key business insights.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor departmental expenditure against approved budgets.
- Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for corrective action.
- Support management with financial planning and strategic decision-making.
Cost Accounting & Profitability Analysis
- Monitor production costs, including raw materials, labor, and manufacturing overheads.
- Analyze product costing and profitability to support pricing and operational decisions.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality.
- Prepare cost reports and monitor manufacturing efficiencies.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and ensure adequate working capital.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports.
- Manage payments to suppliers and monitor customer collections.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of cash and bank transactions.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and other applicable taxes.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory financial requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and inspections.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and accounting standards.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor effective internal control systems.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Safeguard company assets through effective financial controls and regular audits.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee supplier payments and ensure timely settlement of obligations.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Review invoices, payment vouchers, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of all payables and receivables.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA-K Finalistis required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experiencein accounting within a manufacturing, bakery, or food processing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Hands-on experience in cost accounting, profitability analysis, internal controls, and tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles.
