DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee general ledger integrity and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.
  • Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments before posting.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
  • Support external audits and coordinate responses to audit queries.

Income Audit Oversight

  • Supervise and review daily income audit reports.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of revenues across all operational departments.
  • Verify accuracy of revenue postings in the accounting system.
  • Monitor cash handling procedures and investigate discrepancies.
  • Strengthen controls around revenue recognition and reporting.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and analyze variances.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Support cost control initiatives and expense optimization strategies.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and improve internal control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, etc.).
  • Prepare and review statutory filings within required timelines.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies and fraud prevention measures.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies and procedures.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor daily cash flow positions.
  • Review bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Manage supplier payments and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support working capital optimization initiatives.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise finance team members including income audit personnel.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Act as Finance Manager in their absence when required.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA(K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (mandatory).
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive finance experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in income audit.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems and ERP platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High integrity and attention to detail.
