DERMATOLOGIST CONSULTANT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Duties

• Conduct comprehensive skin assessments and medical history reviews
• Diagnose acute and chronic dermatological conditions
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests where necessary
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
• Prescribe medications in compliance with regulatory guidelines
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Provide follow-up consultations and aftercare guidance

Aesthetic & Cosmetic Procedures

• Perform cosmetic dermatology treatments including:
• Chemical peels
• Microneedling
• Laser therapy
• Acne scar treatments
• Skin rejuvenation procedures
• Injectables (where licensed)
• Ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards during all procedures
• Educate patients on skincare routines and preventative care

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan medical and ethical standards
• Follow Ministry of Health regulations and clinic protocols
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

Client Relations & Business Support

• Provide professional consultations that build trust and client loyalty
• Support clinic growth through high-quality service delivery
• Contribute to marketing initiatives where appropriate (educational talks, awareness campaigns, etc.)

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Degree in Dermatology or a related medical field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a skin treatment expert
• Valid professional practicing license
• Strong knowledge of dermatological and cosmetic procedures
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work independently in a clinical setting
