DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safe Transportation

  • Operate a 6-wheel Canter truck safely and efficiently.
  • Transport goods to designated destinations within Kiambu and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure safe loading and offloading of goods to prevent damage.
  • Adhere to traffic laws, NTSA regulations, and company driving policies.

Vehicle Management

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips (brakes, tires, lights, oil, coolant, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle (interior and exterior).
  • Report mechanical issues or damages promptly to management.
  • Ensure vehicle documents (insurance, inspection, license) are valid and up to date.

Delivery & Documentation

  • Verify delivery notes and invoices before dispatch.
  • Obtain delivery confirmations and signatures from clients.
  • Maintain accurate trip records including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery timelines.
  • Return all signed documentation to the office promptly.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow company safety procedures at all times.
  • Avoid overloading and ensure proper cargo securing.
  • Observe defensive driving techniques.
  • Maintain professional conduct when interacting with clients and the public.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE or relevant category).
  • Minimum 4 years of driving experience.
  • Proven experience driving Canter trucks (6-wheel).
  • Good knowledge of Kiambu and surrounding routes.
  • Clean driving record (no major traffic violations).
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
