DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electrical Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs on all electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical faults in machines, motors, control panels, and wiring systems using testing instruments, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Installation & Commissioning: Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Control Systems Management: Maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor control centers, and other automated systems used in manufacturing operations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations, codes, and best practices; maintain a safe working environment.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed reports of maintenance activities, repairs, and electrical system modifications; update electrical schematics and manuals as needed.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the maintenance, production, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for system improvements, energy efficiency, and reliability.
- Equipment Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate electrical system performance to prevent breakdowns and optimize equipment efficiency.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, breakdowns, and malfunctions to minimize production losses.
- Training & Mentorship: Guide junior technicians and apprentices on proper electrical maintenance procedures and safety practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, proposing solutions to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and enhance overall manufacturing productivity.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience as an Electrical Technician in a manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in industrial settings
- Familiarity with safety standards and compliance regulations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
