DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead and supervise all waitstaff, ensuring adherence to service standards
  • Schedule staff shifts and delegate tasks to optimize workflow
  • Train, mentor, and provide performance feedback to junior waiters

Guest Experience Management

  • Ensure all guests receive prompt, courteous, and professional service
  • Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly and effectively
  • Monitor service quality, table presentation, and dining room ambience

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth coordination between kitchen and service staff
  • Maintain inventory control of service items and report shortages to management
  • Prepare and reconcile end-of-day POS reports, including sales, cash handling, and billing accuracy

Health, Safety & Hygiene Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and staff areas

Reporting & Administrative Duties

  • Track staff attendance and performance metrics
  • Report operational issues, incidents, and guest feedback to management
  • Assist in developing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for service excellence

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Certificate in Food & Beverage Service, Hotel Management, or a related hospitality field
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a busy restaurant or hotel, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior waiter role
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for order entry, billing, and report generation
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
