DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate the recruitment process, including job advertisements, candidate screening, interviews, selection, and reference checks.
- Prepare employment documentation and ensure new employees complete all required onboarding and induction processes.
- Maintain an updated recruitment tracker and work closely with departments to meet staffing requirements.
Employee Relations
- Handle employee queries, grievances, complaints, and workplace concerns in a fair and professional manner.
- Support disciplinary processes in line with company policies and applicable Kenyan labour laws.
- Promote positive employee relations and assist in resolving workplace conflicts and employee concerns.
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential employee records and personnel files.
- Manage HR documentation including employment contracts, confirmation letters, leave records, transfers, and other employee correspondence.
- Monitor attendance, leave, employee movements, and other HR administrative activities and prepare relevant reports.
Performance Management
- Coordinate employee performance appraisal and review processes across the organization.
- Support managers in setting performance objectives and addressing performance-related concerns.
- Monitor performance improvement plans and follow up on agreed actions and timelines.
Labour Law & Compliance
- Ensure HR practices and employment processes comply with applicable Kenyan labour laws and regulations.
- Support the implementation and regular review of HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Maintain statutory and employment records and assist with labour-related inspections, audits, and compliance requirements.
Employee Welfare & Engagement
- Support employee welfare, engagement, and workplace initiatives that promote a positive working environment.
- Assist in identifying employee concerns and recommending appropriate interventions to management.
- Coordinate staff communication, employee activities, and other initiatives that support employee engagement and retention.
HR Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate employee information and records within HR systems and other approved databases.
- Prepare regular HR reports covering staffing, turnover, attendance, leave, recruitment, and other workforce information.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and HR systems to support efficient HR administration and reporting.
HR Advisory & Management Support
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance to employees and managers on company policies, procedures, and employment matters.
- Assist management in addressing workforce issues and implementing appropriate HR solutions.
- Support the HR Manager in developing and implementing HR initiatives aligned with the organization’s operational and business objectives.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR practices.
- Practical experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems is an added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of HR practices and employment law.
