MACHINE OPERATOR

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. The role requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve basic machine-related issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Operation & Production

• Operate production machines according to established procedures and production schedules.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure consistent production output.
• Set up, adjust, and calibrate machines to meet production requirements.
• Load raw materials and ensure proper machine feeding during production.
• Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and machine performance.

Quality Control

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards.
• Identify defects, inconsistencies, or production issues and take corrective action where necessary.
• Follow quality control procedures and maintain product specifications.
• Report any quality concerns to the supervisor or relevant department.

Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine checks and basic preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Identify and report machine faults, breakdowns, and unusual operating conditions.
• Assist maintenance teams during repairs and servicing activities.
• Ensure machines are kept clean and operate in optimal condition.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
• Operate machinery safely and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Comply with company policies, production standards, and operational procedures.

Team Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with production teams to achieve daily manufacturing targets.
• Communicate machine performance issues and production updates to supervisors.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field from NYS or a reputable institution
• 1–2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working in a tissue manufacturing company will be an added advantage
• Basic knowledge of machine operations, production processes, and equipment handling
• Ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
