MACHINE OPERATOR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Operation

• Operate assigned factory machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Set up machines before production runs and adjust settings as required.
• Monitor machine performance and output to ensure quality standards are met.
• Record production data and maintain accurate logs.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on machines.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Report major faults or breakdowns to the maintenance team promptly.
• Assist in preventive maintenance schedules.

Quality & Safety Compliance

• Ensure products meet quality specifications during production.
• Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Adhere to company policies and regulatory standards.

Documentation & Reporting

• Interpret machine manuals and follow operational guidelines.
• Document machine performance, maintenance activities, and production reports.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production issues.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Candidates with technical training from NYS (National Youth Service) or NITA (National Industrial Training Authority) are encouraged to apply
• 2–3 years’ experience operating factory machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of factory machinery operation.
• Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret machine manuals and technical instructions.
