DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Childcare and Supervision
- Provide attentive and responsible care for children throughout the day.
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Monitor children’s behavior and respond appropriately to their needs.
- Assist with daily routines including waking up, bathing, dressing, and bedtime routines.
Meal Preparation and Feeding
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks for the children as guided by the household.
- Assist younger children during feeding times.
- Ensure proper hygiene during food preparation and feeding.
Hygiene and Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of children’s rooms, play areas, clothes, and personal items.
- Wash, iron, and organize children’s clothing where required.
- Ensure toys and play materials are clean and safely stored.
Learning and Development Support
- Engage children in age-appropriate educational and creative play activities.
- Support basic learning activities such as reading, counting, and homework assistance where applicable.
- Encourage positive behavior, manners, and social development.
Safety and Well-being
- Ensure a safe environment for children at all times.
- Identify and report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and inform guardians immediately of any concerns.
- Accompany children during outdoor activities or appointments when required.
Communication and Reporting
- Provide regular updates to parents/guardians regarding children’s progress and behavior.
- Report any incidents, concerns, or emergencies promptly.
- Follow household instructions and routines consistently.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Certificate or relevant training in Childcare, Early Childhood Development, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a nanny or caregiver is an added advantage
- Good understanding of child safety, hygiene, and development needs.
- Trustworthy, patient, and caring personality.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
