OPERATIONS OFFICER – LOGISTICS & EXPORT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Logistics & Transport Coordination

  • Coordinate local and international shipments from order confirmation through to final delivery.
  • Plan and monitor transportation schedules to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or transportation challenges.

 Export Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and verify export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and certificates of origin.
  • Liaise with customs agents and regulatory authorities to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customs regulations, trade requirements, and company policies.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate activities with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, and warehouse teams.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, and service providers.
  • Address operational issues promptly to ensure uninterrupted logistics operations.

 Inventory & Operational Support

  • Coordinate warehouse dispatches and inventory movement to ensure accurate order fulfilment.
  • Support inventory planning through collaboration with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams.
  • Monitor logistics costs and recommend efficiency improvements.

 

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate shipment, logistics, and export records.
  • Prepare operational reports using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems where applicable.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, and export operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in freight coordination, customs clearance, shipping documentation, and transport management.
  • Professional certification in Supply Chain or Logistics will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, export procedures, and customs regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience is an added advantage.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
