DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Baking & Production

  • Prepare, mix, and bake breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure consistent quality, portioning, and presentation for all baked items.
  • Experiment with new recipes and seasonal creations to enhance product offerings.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and consistency to achieve perfect results.

 Decoration & Presentation

  • Decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts attractively, keeping in mind customer appeal and branding standards.
  • Maintain high standards for plating and presentation in both retail and bulk orders.
  • Innovate with garnishes, glazes, and designs to create visually appealing products.

Inventory & Ingredient Management

  • Check and manage inventory of raw materials and ingredients.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
  • Place orders for baking supplies when needed and monitor usage trends.

 Hygiene & Safety Compliance

  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and workstations throughout the day.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients and finished products.

Teamwork & Training

  • Collaborate with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train and mentor junior bakers or assistants as required.
  • Assist in coordinating kitchen workflow during peak hours to ensure timely product availability.

Customer Focus & Quality Assurance

  • Monitor taste, texture, and appearance of baked goods to ensure premium quality.
  • Adjust recipes or techniques based on customer feedback or special requests.
  • Ensure that all products leaving the bakery meet brand and quality standards.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Certification in baking, pastry arts, or culinary studies.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a busy restaurant, bakery, or supermarket setting.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert preparation, and confectionery.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creativity in baked goods.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
