SPARE PARTS SHOP ATTENDANT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide a warm and courteous welcome to all guests, ensuring they feel valued from arrival to departure
• Attend to customers professionally and understand their spare parts requirements.
• Identify and recommend the correct spare parts for Isuzu trucks and Toyota vehicles.
• Use vehicle model, year, engine type, chassis number and part numbers to identify parts.
• Provide customers with accurate information on product availability, pricing, and application.
• Sell genuine, quality, and approved replacement parts.
• Prepare quotations, sales orders, invoices, and receipts where required.
• Receive and inspect incoming spare parts and confirm quantities and specifications.
• Arrange and maintain proper organization of spare parts within the shop and store.
• Monitor stock levels and identify fast-moving and slow-moving items.
• Assist with stock taking and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure correct labeling, storage and handling of spare parts.
• Follow up on customer inquiries, orders and special requests.
• Maintain good relationships with mechanics, garages, fleet owners, transport companies and individual customers.
• Assist customers with alternative parts where the requested item is unavailable, subject to company approval.
• Ensure al sales and stock transactions are accurately recorded in the company’s system.
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional shop environment.
• Prevent incorrect part sales by carefully verifying applications before invoicing.
• Report damaged, missing, obsolete or incorrectly supplied parts to management.
• Support the sales team in achieving monthly sales targets

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• KCSE certificate or equivalent
• Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Motor Vehicle Technology, Parts Management or a related field is an added advantage
• 2+ years’ experience working in an automotive spare parts shop, dealership, garage or related environment
• Previous experience handling Isuzu and Toyota parts is highly preferred
• Experience with automotive parts catalogues or electronic parts identification systems is an advantage
