DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Delivery & Distribution

  • Transport and deliver products to customers accurately and within the scheduled timelines.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize delays and fuel consumption.
  • Confirm quantities and product types before departure and upon delivery.
  • Obtain proof of delivery (signed invoices, delivery notes, or electronic confirmation).
  • Handle returns, rejected goods, or exchanges according to company procedures.

 Vehicle Management

  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, tires, brakes, lights, etc.).
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Report accidents, damages, breakdowns, or maintenance needs immediately.
  • Monitor fuel usage and maintain accurate fuel and mileage records.

Customer Service

  • Act as a professional representative of the company when interacting with customers.
  • Communicate delivery updates or delays promptly and professionally.
  • Address basic customer inquiries and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Maintain a courteous and respectful attitude at all times.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Follow company policies and delivery protocols.
  • Ensure safe loading and offloading to prevent product damage or personal injury.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, route sheets, and fuel records.
  • Submit daily delivery reports to the supervisor.
  • Assist in stock reconciliation when required.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a delivery driver
  • Valid driving license (relevant class for mini vans)
  • Proven experience driving automatic mini vans.
  • Good knowledge of Nairobi routes and traffic patterns.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity, responsibility, and time management skills.
