WELDER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Welding & Fabrication

• Perform welding and fabrication works according to technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Cut, shape, assemble, and weld metal components to the required dimensions and specifications.
• Carry out different welding and fabrication tasks while maintaining accuracy, strength, and quality of finished products.

 Technical Drawings & Measurements

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, measurements, and fabrication specifications.
• Take accurate measurements and mark materials before cutting, drilling, or welding.
• Ensure fabricated components meet the required dimensions, tolerances, and design specifications.

 Quality Control

• Inspect welded joints and fabricated components to ensure they meet required quality standards.
• Identify welding defects, dimensional errors, and other quality issues and make necessary corrections.
• Maintain strong attention to detail throughout the fabrication and finishing process.

Equipment & Material Handling

• Operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools safely and effectively.
• Select and prepare appropriate materials, welding rods, wires, and other consumables for assigned tasks.
• Carry out basic checks and maintenance of welding and fabrication equipment and report faults promptly.

Workplace Safety

• Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures during welding and fabrication activities.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe handling of welding equipment and materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Production Support

• Complete assigned welding and fabrication jobs within set production schedules and deadlines.
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other production team members to meet fabrication requirements.
• Report material shortages, equipment problems, and production challenges to the supervisor promptly.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Diploma in Welding and Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a workshop, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and measurements.
• Practical experience in metal cutting, shaping, assembly, and welding.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and fabrication practices.
• Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good knowledge of welding tools, equipment, and materials.
